Dennis Ray Mial Sr. was born in Wake County North Carolina on December 11, 1952. He spent most of his youth on a farm and was impressed by the colors he saw in nature. At a very young age Dennis interpreted those colors on paper with crayons and water colors, today on canvas with acrylics and oils.

At the age of seventeen Dennis enlisted in the United States Navy where he served a three year tour of duty at home and abroad.

After the Navy, Dennis attended Wake Technical Institute and later attended North Carolina Wesleyan College. After majoring in criminal justice Dennis then served several years in North Carolina law enforcement.

Dennis is a self taught multi-award winning artist with a style filled with “Mials of Color”.
